In Latvia, a withholding tax of 20 % will be levied on interest payments from 1 January 2018, although this can be reduced. In order for the withholding tax to be reduced to 10%, the Bank must receive a certificate of residence no later than eight weeks before the due date. You should be able to claim additional tax relief for this foreign tax in Ireland.

To reduce the withholding tax, a certificate of tax residence from Revenue is required, as well as the form "Claim for Reduction or Exemption from the anticipatory Tax withheld at Source" which we will provide to you when you make an order. These documents must be submitted no later than six weeks before your deposit is to to mature.

Malta is a member of the European Union and has used the Euro as its currency since joining the Eurozone in 2008.
