The aim of the platform is to provide borrowers with a faster, simpler and cheaper way to obtain a loan than in the traditional banking system. Deposit Guarantee Scheme
In accordance with EU Directive 2014/49/EU on Deposit Guarantee Schemes, your savings - including interest that has accrued but not yet credited - are guaranteed by the French statutory deposit guarantee scheme up to €100,000 per account holder per bank (keep the latter in mind, should you still hold balances with the bank in question outside of Raisin). Repayment is made in euros. The refundable amount will be made available to the account holder within 7 business days from the time the deposit guarantee scheme comes into effect. The guarantee applies to all natural persons, whether resident in France or elsewhere. Manager and executor of the deposit guarantee scheme is the Fonds de Garantie des Dépôts et de Résolution (https://www.garantiedesdepots.fr/en).
Tax process and documentation
In France, no withholding tax is levied on interest income for persons with permanent residence abroad.
