About the Bank
Younited Credit SA (“Younited”) is an online banking platform specialised in consumer loan, founded in 2009 and headquartered in Paris, France. Deposit Guarantee Scheme
In accordance with EU Directive 2014/49/EU on Deposit Guarantee Schemes, your savings - including interest that has accrued but not yet credited - are guaranteed by the French statutory deposit guarantee scheme up to €100,000 per account holder per bank (keep the latter in mind, should you still hold balances with the bank in question outside of Raisin). Repayment is made in euros. The refundable amount will be made available to the account holder within 7 business days from the time the deposit guarantee scheme comes into effect. The guarantee applies to all natural persons, whether resident in France or elsewhere. Manager and executor of the deposit guarantee scheme is the Fonds de Garantie des Dépôts et de Résolution (https://www.garantiedesdepots.fr/en).

A Deposit account is a savings product which allows you to make an investment of a certain amount for a fixed period of time and at a fixed interest rate, with all parameters being agreed to before entering into the contract.

What are the tax implications when saving in Europe?
As a resident of Ireland, you will have to declare any interest you earn from deposits. Deposit interest is liable to Deposit interest retention tax (DIRT).
Any foreign tax you may pay on interest earned in Europe can be easily deducted from your DIRT liability when making your annual tax return to Revenue.

Does Raisin withhold tax automatically?
No – Raisin Bank does not withhold any taxes. You must declare interest earned in your annual tax return with Revenue. We will however provide you with documentation showing exactly how much interest you earned.
